About Us

Crafting unforgettable African safaris rooted in service and community.

Ideal Africa Safaris was founded on a simple belief: a great safari isn't just about the wildlife you see – it's about the connection you feel with the land and the people who call it home. Every journey we create is designed to give you that deep, authentic experience.

Before founding Ideal Africa Safaris, Reuben Matthews Jnr served as an American soldier, a chapter that shaped how he sees the land and the people who call it home. That same instinct for service carries into the business today: 5% of every safari booking goes directly toward drilling boreholes and helping children in the Maasai community access education. That commitment has already become real on the ground — together with our guests, we've drilled a borehole at Oldonyo Erinka Primary School in Maji Moto village and built the Olasiti Goeke Dispensary, both now serving the community.

We work closely with local guides, camp owners, and community members to ensure that tourism brings real benefit to the people and places you visit. It's not about showing up for a week and moving on, it's about building lasting relationships and being part of the solution to real challenges.

Whether you're a first-time safari explorer or a seasoned traveler, we tailor every itinerary to match what you're looking for. From intimate wildlife encounters to cultural immersion, from luxury lodges to mobile camps under the stars, we've got you covered.
