Best Of Kenya SafariDay 1:07:00hrs pick up and proceed north to Samburu National park arriving in time for lunch at Samburu lodge. At 1600hrs, proceed for an afternoon game drive. Samburu National Reserve is located 325 kms north of Nairobi in the hot and arid northern region of Kenya. The reserve is placed within the ancestral lands of the Samburu, who are close relatives of the Maasai. Despite being so far flung, the reserve harbors a number of species rarely found anywhere else. Among these are Grevy's zebra, the reticulated giraffe and the beisa oryx, all of which are only found north of the equator. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Lodge. Day 2: 06:00hrs, early morning game drive followed by breakfast. Lunch at Samburu Lodge. 16:00hrs proceed for an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Samburu lodge. Day 3: Pick up at 08:00hrs and drive to Outspan hotel where you will have lunch at 12:30 hrs. Later in the afternoon transfer to Treetops Lodge. Aberdares National Park has a diverse topography that includes icy rivers, spectacular waterfalls and rain forests. The flora and fauna is quite unique and is not found elsewhere in the country, expect on Mount Kenya. Leopard, elephant, serval, waterbuck, reedbuck, dikdik, rhino and the rare bongo can all be found here. You are sure to see elephants, buffaloes and some other animals at the floodlit waterholes of Treetops Lodge. Dinner and Overnight at Treetops Lodge. Day 4: 08:00hrs, pick up and drive to Lake Nakuru National park arriving in time for lunch at Sarova Lion Hill lodge. 16:00hrs, proceed for an afternoon game drive. Dinner and 0vernight at Sarova Lion hill lodge. Day 5: 07:00 hrs pick up and drive via the Great Rift Valley to arrive at Maasai Mara in time for lunch. Along the way we will have a distant view of Mt. Longonot, Mt. Margaret and Mt. Suswa. 16:00 hrs - An afternoon game drive till dusk. The Masai Mara National Reserve is Kenya's finest wildlife reserve. Everything about this reserve is outstanding. The wildlife is abundant and the gentle rolling grasslands ensure that animals are never out of sight. Birds, too, are prolific. Including migrants, well over 450 species have been recorded, among them, 57 species of birds of prey. The climate is gentle, rarely too hot and well - spread rainfall year round. Rain, when it falls almost always chooses the late afternoon or night. Between July and October, when the great wildebeest migration is in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, the sensation is unparalleled. Dinner and overnight at Mara Simba Lodge. Day 6: 06:30 hrs - Early morning game drive in the Mara. Later, return to the lodge for breakfast. Rest of the morning at leisure. (On this day, you also have an optional balloon ride - at an extra cost with pick up from the lodge at 05:00hrs). 16:00 hrs - After lunch at the lodge, proceed for an afternoon game drive till dusk. Dinner and overnight at Mara Simba lodge. Day 7: Breakfast at the lodge and at 08:00hrs, return to Nairobi arriving around 13:00 hrs. Notes: Airfare is not included in the tour price.
